How To Decorate For The Holidays With Seasonal Sparkle & Style

Season’s greetings, cuties! I know, I know…Thanksgiving is still ahead of us, yet I’m already fully in Christmas-mode! But you know what they say…the early shopper gets all the holiday gifts on their list! I know all of you Kuotes readers have their calendars marked for Black Friday and Cyber Monday–watch this space for details–and are ready to decorate for the holidays!

I’ll just be honest: I’m right there with you! I love to decorate for the holidays (and my kiddos adore it as well) and one of my favorite parts of the whole process is sharing it with you all!

My team and I recently decked the halls in my NYC apartment to photograph our luxurious holiday gift and entertaining assortment (our best ever, I have to say) and I’m thrilled to give you a look behind the scenes and share some of my favorite tips on how to decorate for the holidays in the chicest ways with all of our Kathy Kuo Home must-haves!

From new homes to empty nests, our interior design team is here to help you love where you live.

Dining Room Decadence

When it comes to a holiday tabletop, I love a healthy amount of gilded glamour, seasonal sparkle, and dazzling decadence. As I’ve said many times, the holiday season is the time to go ahead and use your special occasion tableware. If not now, then when?

For this wintery blush and gold tablescape, I started with my favorite gold tipped dinnerware from L’Objet, champagne glass beaded placemats from Kim Seybert, and Italian gold accented wine glasses from Vietri and Villeroy & Boch.

Once the table is set with the essentials–dishesglasswareflatwarelinens–it’s time for the really fun part: The seasonal holiday decor pieces! Of course, interspersed the most beautiful landscape of Simon Pearce hand-blown glass trees, blush metallic candles to cast a warm glow, and artful arrangement of winter white florals in the perfect gold vessel.

Effortless Holiday Hosting in High Style

Hosting a holiday soiree in your home can involve a lot of moving pieces–it can be easy to get overwhelmed! But “stress” doesn’t have to go hand in hand with hostess duties! I recommend planning your tablescape design in advance. Make lists of what you have and what you need–both in terms of decor and dinnerware as well as food and drink.

With our beautiful and completely curated assortment of holiday entertaining essentials, the perfectly styled holiday gathering is oh-so-easy! We truly have everything you need to dazzle and delight your guests–all in one place! Talk about #HolidayMagic!

Staying organized helps to make room for oh-so-special entertaining extras like a the perfect wine chiller (mine is from Simon Pearce), festive cocktail napkins, and statement-making napkin rings to tie the whole tableau together.

And of course, as regular Kuotes readers know, I love expressing myself through fashion almost much as through interior design…so the final flourish on my Hostess-with-the-Mostess agenda is the perfect holiday party dress: No surprise, this dusty pink number is from my go-to brand Zimmermann (female-founded and the most gorgeous dresses in the world)!

All the Joyful Details

Finally, you know my KKH Design elves and I have been working all year long to bring you the very best collection of seasonal specialties! For example, one joyful flourish I like to add when I’m hosting a holiday party is to try add similar festive details to what’s on my tabletop all around my home–and with our irresistible assortment of glamorous holiday decor accents it really is all fun and instant-chic in the most effortless way.

I love to do a a fully decked out bar area on top of my dining room console–adding a forest of glass trees to the ones on my primary table help continue that festive visual through-line. If you couldn’t tell already, I am obsessed with these Simon Pearce trees! They’re all handmade in Vermont, and it truly looks like some of the trees were just touched with the sparkle and wonder of freshly fallen snow.

I’ll also take any opportunity to use my beloved pewter barware–like ice buckets, decanters, and glassware. Every scotch lover who see it is instantly impressed, and I love the masculinity of the pewter combined with the delicate shimmering trees and the glowing candles!

At the end of the day, hosting and gearing up to decorate for the holidays is alway going to involve a certain amount of time and effort–but it’s always worth it for the delight and that a beautifully styled party brings to your loved ones! And if you’re not hosting yourself, all of our KKH holiday tabletop and bar pieces make for excellent hostess gifts!
