Use Round Mirrors To Complete Any Room In Your Home

How to decorate with round mirrors...

Though we are loath to pick favorites, when it comes to mirrors, those of the round variety may just be the fairest of them all. Of course there are fabulous and functional mirrors of all shapes, sizes, and orientations, but round mirrors tend to offer the most versatile and elegant design solutions. From wooden and rustic to gilded and glam, there is a round mirror to be found for every style and space. Read on to learn how to decorate with round mirrors in every room of your home. Enjoy!

Round Mirrors in The Foyer

What better place to mount a mirror than your front entryway or foyer? Apart from opening up the space and allowing you to double check your hair or makeup before dashing out the door, a round mirror in the foyer makes an impressive statement and helps set the tone for the rest of your home. If you’re hanging a mirror in the foyer, our recommendation is to hang it above a gorgeous console with the bottom of the mirror about 4-6 inches above the tabletop. We also adore the look above where an oversized mirror, such as our 48 inch wide Bernie Mirror, is placed above a bench.

Whether you favor something classic and chic, like the Libby Hollywood Regency mirror, or something more adventurous and eclectic, like the Sonrisa Global Bazaar mirror, round mirrors are functional works of art and easy to find in a variety of sizes. They’re perfect for dressing up any entryway wall!

Round Mirrors in the Powder Room

Drooling over those dreamy baths you see on Instagram? A beautiful round mirror is the key to transforming your bathroom into a luxurious, spa-like oasis for guests. Function is important here, so you want something with a more sizable reflective pane, like the Libby (a designer favorite), to make it easier to get ready in the mornings and at night. That said, feel free to experiment with a bolder frame to add depth and detail to the bathroom, like those featured in our Zion Global Textured Brass Mirror or our Argonaut Industrial Gold Antique Mirror.

Keep in mind while shopping that the diameter of the mirror you purchase should speak to the size of your bathroom vanity sink. For larger vanities, choose a mirror with a shorter diameter than the width of the vanity so the mirror can be placed on center. If you have a small, pedestal style vanity sink, a larger mirror can have dramatic effect when the mirror is placed so the vanity is centered relative to the mirror. However you decide to go, the proportions should look purposeful. Avoid mirrors with diameters that are just short or long of the width of your sink fixture.

Round Mirrors in the Living Room

Living room walls are made for mounting more than just televisions and artwork. A decorative, round wall mirror not only adds character to the room but also has the power to expand the space beyond its physical walls.

Some great options for placement include above a sofa or fireplace mantle. Either way, this is your chance to go all out and impress with something striking and unique like the Cocoa Wood Ruffled Coastal Beach or the Medusa Global Bazaar mirror.

Round Mirrors in the Hallway

Oft overlooked, hallways can be more than just conduits from one room to another. An empty hallway screams for design attention! Round mirrors are a great solve for a barren hallway and will imbue the corridor with a character all of its own.

Try piecing together a series of three smaller mirrors lining the wall, like our Julian Antique Gold Champagne Small Round Convex Mirror. Or place a singular, striking sunburst design like the Gisele Hollywood Regency mounted above a sleek console table.

Round Mirrors in the Bedroom

No bedroom is complete without a good mirror. Whether you are looking for an eye-catching accent piece to hang above your headboard or a simple mirror to mount over a dresser, why settle for square when you can go round? For lovers of more rustic, French Country design, a wood-framed piece like the Cyprien Floral Engraved Round Wall Mirror makes a shabby chic bedroom.

Those with a taste for something bold and gold may appreciate a more contemporary design, such as our Minerva Modern Metal Orb Mirror. The only place to avoid placing a mirror is directly across from the bed (especially if you’re privy to feng shui).
